Framing & Presentation

The presentation of each work is considered as carefully as the work itself.

For the original silk artworks, framing is a precise process developed specifically to support the material qualities of the silk while allowing the work to remain visually suspended within its frame.

Original Silk Artworks

All framed original silk artworks are presented in a bespoke floating frame, individually made to suit the dimensions and requirements of each work.

The silk is carefully stretched over an MDF backboard, providing a stable and supportive surface while preserving the character of the textile. The stretched silk is then fixed onto inner stretching bars before being mounted within the floating frame.

The resulting construction creates a considered separation between the artwork and outer frame, allowing the silk to appear to float within the frame while protecting and supporting the work.

Each frame is made specifically for the individual artwork. As a result, framing is not a standardised or interchangeable component of the work, but part of its final presentation.

The framing method is precise and deliberately constructed to accommodate the particular qualities of silk as a textile material.

A diagram below illustrates the framing construction and how the artwork is assembled within the frame.

Unframed Original Artworks

Where an original artwork is offered unframed, it will be carefully packaged in a bespoke presentation box designed for the work.

The artwork will be securely prepared for transportation and accompanied by instructions explaining how it should be handled and appropriately framed.

Because silk is a delicate textile material, I recommend using a professional framer familiar with textile or fabric artwork where possible.

Canvas Prints

Museum-grade giclée prints on archival poly-cotton canvas are also presented in bespoke floating frames.

The canvas is carefully mounted and presented within the frame to create the same sense of visual separation and suspension as the original works.

Each framed canvas print is:

  • Museum-grade giclée printed on archival poly-cotton canvas

  • Professionally mounted within a floating frame

  • Individually framed to suit the artwork

  • Supplied ready to hang

The floating presentation allows the canvas to remain visually distinct from the frame while providing a clean, architectural finish.

Original 35mm Film Photographs

Original 35mm film photographs are reproduced on 230 gsm archival matte paper with a textured finish.

They are presented in a wood frame with premium plexiglass.

Each framed photograph includes:

  • 230 gsm archival matte photographic paper

  • Textured archival finish

  • Wood floating frame

  • Premium plexiglass glazing

  • Pre-installed sawtooth fixing

  • Ready to hang

This framing method maintains a clean and understated presentation while protecting the photographic print.

Care & Handling

The materials used in each work have been selected and prepared with longevity and presentation in mind.

Silk artworks should be handled carefully and kept away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive moisture and extreme changes in temperature.

For unframed silk works, please follow the handling and framing instructions supplied with the artwork.
