Mobile screen printing at different events, working in collaboration with designers and artists to manifest different print ideas and produce them on the spot.
The idea of this is to produce print outcomes for people at different events, spaces and to allow people to make the choice of what they want. Usually we have a set of designs pre-decided to the event after collaborating with the commissioners and then when we arrive to the event people can chose what they want in terms of the garment they want it on, the designs and the colours that they want it in.
There are a few different techniques we use but we mainly work with T-shirt printing with pre-made designs and heat press with pre-made transfer stickers or on the spot transfer images.
The main idea is to produce unique outcomes for people live and allow them to have choice in the way its done. It is also a way of teaching people and engaging them with the process to see if they have curiosities to try themselves.
We use inks that can be cured on the spot so people go home directly with their screen printed item.
Workshops
This is also part of a workshop on-going project where we run workshops on the weekends teaching people in T-shirt printing, fabric printing and paper printing.
The classes vary in levels from beginners to professional levels.
Running these workshops allows people to engage in a new process and start to make by hand to experience how screen printing works which starts to empower them from a creative point and allows them to think about all the different possibilities and ways of working with screen printing.
I find that screen printing is a process that is fairly tricky to understand until you start to practice it and learn more in-depth about it.
These workshops are catered to taking people step by step through the process so that they can go away and begin to get into the practice themselves and see what they can create.
